Itinerary
DAY 1: BOLOGNA-RAVENNA
Meet your tour manager at the Bologna Airport and transfer to Ravenna located on the Adriatic Sea.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Ravenna.
DAY 2: RAVENNA
Take a walking tour of Ravenna. Christian from the 2nd century and the bishop’s seat in the 4th century, it grew to fame in 402 and became the capital of the Western Roman Empire. The city has a unique, preserved set of early Christian buildings adorned with ancient splendid mosaics of oriental influence.
Next, visit Saint Vitale Basilica which offers a striking contrast between the robust exterior and the golden marvels of the interior. Also, discover the oldest mosaics (5th century) in Ravenna: Mausoleum of Galla Placidia.
After your step back in time, have free time for lunch.
Continue to the Saint-Appolinaire dedicated to Saint Martin; this is a breathtaking picture book depicting processions of saints and martyrs and its magnificent scenes of the Gospel.
Next, visit the Baptistery of the Arians which introduces Arianism celebrated in the West by the Goths.
Finally, you will explore the Basilica of Saint Francis which was built in the 5th century and restructured several times over the centuries; this Church still charms visitors thanks to its old medieval crypt. A private mass will be celebrated in the basilica for your group.

DAY 3: CAMPOSAMPIERO-PADUA
Check-out and drive to Padua. Stop in Camposampiero where St. Anthony stopped for a few days to rest and pray. During his stay, it is said that he was visited by Jesus the Child. Visit Noce Sanctuary where Saint Anthony, according to legend, held a memorable sermon from the top of a walnut tree.
After exploring the sanctuary, continue to the Sanctuaryof Arcella where Saint Anthony died. Following the visits, you will celebrate mass.
Free time for lunch.
Then drive to Padua and take an orientation tour of the city center with your tour leader. You will stroll by Piazza dei Signori, the Duomo and its 12th century baptistery and frescoes, the Piazza delle Erbe and the Scrovegni Chapel. Contemplate the work of Giotto who produced an exceptional cycle of frescoes in praise of the Redemption.

DAY 4: PADUA-VENICE
Check-out and set off on a guided walking tour of Padua and Saint Anthony's Basilica which was built to house the relics of Saint Anthony. With its seven Byzantine domes, its Romanesque facade, its Gothic bell towers, its convent and its cloisters, you will surely be amazed.
During the journey, you will have the chance to meet with a Franciscan brother. Spend some prayer time at the tomb of the Saint and have free time for lunch and shopping.
Drive to Venice, and once there, take a boat tour on the Grand Canal with its Venetian palaces bordered by over a hundred Byzantine, Gothic and Renaissance-style palaces. Float under the Rialto Bridge to the Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari Church, whose history is linked to the Franciscans.
Take a stroll through the quaint streets to Saint Mark's Square which is the center of Venetian life for almost a thousand years. Admire St. Mark's Basilica, TheCampanile, TheClock Tower, and The Doge's Palace.

DAY 5 : VENICE-SAN FRANCESCO DEL DESERTO
Visit San Francesco Della Vigna Church and its beautiful cloisters, Saint Mark's Basilica and its ceilings of mosaics covered with gold, and finally, Saint Mark’sMuseum and its numerous religious works and the original bronze horses from Constantinople. Continue to the upper galleries to admire the mosaics and onto the terrace for the view of Saint Mark's Square.
Free time for lunch and some relaxation.
Depart by boat to the island of San Francesco del Deserto. Located on the ancient island of San Francesco, the convent dates back to the 13th century when Saint Francis settled there on his return from the Holy Land. Celebrate Mass before returning to Venice.
