Itinerary
Day 1: ORVIETO
Arrive at Rome Airport and meet your tour leader. Transfer to your hotel near the beautiful Orvieto.
Dinner and overnight stay in Orvieto.
Day 2: VILLA LANTE-BOMARZO
Drive to Villa Lante in the nearbyBagnaia where you will admire the amazing Mannerist style gardens that date back to the 16th century. With your local guide, discover the many cascades, fountains and grottoes that make this garden one of the most famous of Italy.
Free time for lunch and shopping before continuing your day.
The afternoon is dedicated to the visit of Bomarzo and the popular Park of theMonsters. This is a natural park commissioned by the Orsini family in the 15th century. Here you will enjoy the many basaltic sculptures and statues that portray mythological figures, divinities and, yes, monsters!
Dinner and overnight stay in Orvieto.
Day 3: CAPRAROLA AND VILLA FARNESE
Depart for and visit Caprarola, a beautiful, small village built on top of a volcanic hill and is part of the Cimini Mountains.
Free time for lunch and relaxing.
In the afternoon, you will meet your local guide and visit Villa Farnese which was considered a symbol of the namesake family’s power, wealth, and nobility.
Dinner and an overnight stay in Orvieto.
Day 4: TIVOLI- HADRIAN’S VILLA AND VILLA D’ESTE
Check-out of your hotel. Make your way to Tivoli where you will tour Hadrian’s Villa and Villa d’Este. Roman Emperor Hadrian used the gardens as a retreat in the 2nd century A.D. Today, the villa is a World HeritageSite and is visited by thousands of tourists annually.
Free time for lunch and relaxing.
In the afternoon, visit Villa d’Este and its amazing Italian Renaissance Gardens. You will be amazed by the over 300 water jets and approximately 60 water fountains!
Dinner and overnight stay in Orvieto at the hotel located on the Alban Hills-boasting a beautiful view of Rome!
Day 5: ROMAN CASTLES
Depart to Castelli Romani (Roman Castles). This area is composed of a series of towns at the foot of the Alban Hills famous for beautiful landscapes, spectacular lakes, traditional food, and delectable wine.
On the way, stop for wine tasting in a typical farmhouse.
In the afternoon, visit of the Landriana Gardens designed by the famous architect Russel Page and transformed into a real paradise!
Dinner and overnight stay on the Alban Hills.
Day 6: NINFA GARDENS
Depart for Sermoneta to visit Ninfa Gardens and 8 acres of natural beauty!
Discover a wide range of exotic plants, Cypresses and Oaks strewn among original medieval ruins.
